Welcome to Student-Led Conferences! Some experiences that you can ask your child to share with you include:
- going over our Classroom Expectations on the door; tell your adult which expectation best fits you (with an example of how you demonstrate that expectation)
- reading our Poem of the Week - Every Day is Earth Day and completing the last page together (an idea for protecting the Earth)
- choosing one of their Friendly Books to read to you
- using the subtraction booklet, have your child show their understanding of fact families (3 numbers are used to create two addition and two subtraction equations); they can show you how we use Happy Sticks to practice fact families
- sharing their Spring Journal with you
- showing you their STEM Activities - constructions
- showing you their eagle print and explaining the significance of the eagle to indigenous peoples (this activity is from our kit and learnings supplied by Qualicum First Nations)
- enjoying our spring art on the bulletin boards outside of our classroom
- going to see our school's collaborative Earth Day project in the library
- visiting the playground to demonstrate their knowledge of Forces (push, pull, friction, and gravity)
- visiting the Gym and Music Room
